Meet Jim Maynard
Counselor. Guide. Listener.
Hi, I'm Jim Maynard. I’m a licensed professional counselor, and I've spent the last 30 years working with people to help them navigate some of life's most challenging experiences—things like trauma, addiction, and difficult life transitions.
My path hasn't always been in private practice. I’ve worked in both leadership and direct care, which I believe gives me a unique perspective. For example, I served as the Director of Counseling Services at the Denver Rescue Mission. That experience was incredibly informative, and at times, humbling. It deepened my understanding of the immense struggles people face, but more importantly, it showed me the profound resilience they carry.
Today, I weave together everything I've learned—both clinically and personally. My approach combines evidence-based methods with somatic awareness, a deeper, more reflective perspective and a profoundly deep soul work. For me, counseling is about respect for the complexity of being human. I want to help you do more than just cope with your circumstances; I want to guide you to the realization of the divinity within, and the freedom and joy that can come from this embracing.
